About This Organization

In an old bait house, more than 40 years ago, seven dedicated families humbly started Lakepointe Church. They had one goal: to start a church serving the young families moving into their community. Now, over 20,000 people meet weekly in 2 languages across their 6 Dallas/Fort Worth locations, and the spirit of the seven families can still be felt today. Additionally, God has used Lakepointe to reach beyond their DFW communities through their church planting network (Strategic Launch Network) to plant 70 churches, to date, in the most spiritually hard-to-reach cities across the United States.

• Josh Howerton is the Senior Pastor of Lakepointe Church. Before Lakepointe, he pastored The Bridge Church in Nashville, TN for ten years
• Josh is most passionate about making disciples at Lakepointe, training leaders, and planting churches through the Strategic Launch Network
• He is a leading voice in the cultural issues of our day and how the church can best respond. Bold and compassionate, Josh provides biblical clarity in a world of confusion.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop effective communication strategies which incorporate storytelling, branding, and marketing campaigns
• Lead the Communications Team in developing and executing clear, consistent messaging across multiple platforms
• Ensure Communications Team delivers on time, on target, excellent products to the organization
• Provide coaching, development, and accountability for team members
• Cultivate the “voice” of Lakepointe to communicate culture and values throughout internal and external communication
• Oversee creation of visual and written content to support ministries, campaigns, and events

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field preferred
• 8+ years of experience in communications, preferably in a church or nonprofit environment
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Experience leading and managing a creative or communications team.
• Proficient in marketing platforms, CMS, email marketing tools, and design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
• Strong understanding of digital media trends and analytics.
• 3-5 years of experience building and leading teams in a communications, art, or project management field.
